Who's behind Remnants?

Remnants is a part of Peo Vee, a community platform for conscious crafters. We are a small female-owned business based out of Los Angeles, CA.

What does it cost to sell on Remnants?
  • Listing commissionListing Commission: Remnants charges a commission of 10% on the transaction total—items and shipping (excluding tax)—which is deducted at the time of payment processing.
  • Sellers must also be active paid members of the Peo Vee community. Monthly, and annual membership options are available starting at $4 / month.
  • Seller payments: Payments from buyers are processed through our payment gateway, with funds disbursed to your account after deducting applicable fees. Disbursements are made each Monday and include sales from the previous week (Monday–Sunday) that have been shipped with tracking.

How are shipping rates calculated?

We have a default rate table based on weight, however each seller may set their own shipping rates to replace the default rates. Our default rate table can be found here.

We do not guarantee our default rates will cover all shipping scenarios, as they are weight based and do not take distance into consideration. Sellers have the option to set their own rate tables by request at any time. Please choose the best rates for your business when you setup your shop.

Does Remnants provide shipping labels?

Not at this time. All shipping will need to be purchased by sellers.

What are my sales tax obligations?

Remnants will handle sales tax collection and remittance for transactions where marketplace facilitator laws apply, including orders shipped to California customers.

  • California Orders: As a California-based marketplace, we are required to collect and remit sales tax for sales shipped to California buyers. This tax will be automatically added to orders at checkout, and we will remit it directly to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA).
  • Out-of-State Orders: Sellers are responsible for understanding and managing their own tax obligations for sales shipped to states that may require seller-collected tax. We recommend consulting a tax professional if you have questions about your tax responsibilities outside of California.
What do I need to do to sell my remnants?

Selling on Remnants is a perk for paid members of the Peo Vee community.

Peo Vee community members can simply fill out the Seller Registration form here. Approval may take up to 48 hours. Once approved you'll receive a notice of approval by email.

During setup, you'll receive access to a seller dashboard where you'll provide your shop details including name and description. You'll need to list at least one item, and set up any shipping policies if you choose not to use our defaults. Finally, in order to receive payments from Remnants by Peo Vee, you'll need to link a Paypal account, and provide a W9.

Why do I need to provide a W9 to sell on Remnants?

Sellers who sell more than $600 in a calendar year will receive an annual 1099K from Peo Vee. While approved sellers may list products on Remnants, payouts will not be sent without a W9 on file with Peo Vee. View our Income Reporting and Tax Documentation Policy for more details.

How will I receive my payments for sales?

Payments are currently disbursed only through PayPal. All you need is an active PayPal account.
