Seller policy

Seller policy

Welcome to Peo Vee's marketplace, hereafter Remnants. We’re excited to have you as part of our seller community. This policy outlines important guidelines and responsibilities for selling on Remnants. Please review these terms carefully to understand our expectations and your obligations as a seller.

1. Seller Responsibilities
As a seller on Remnants, you agree to:

  • Accurately Represent Your Products: All listings must include clear, complete, and truthful descriptions and photographs. You must disclose any materials, processes, or conditions (e.g. wear, damage, allergens) that may reasonably impact a buyer’s decision.
  • Fulfill Orders Promptly: Once an order is placed, it’s your responsibility to package and ship the item(s) within 1-3 business days. You are also responsible for providing tracking information, and for communicating promptly with Remnants and/or buyers about any delays.
  • Comply with Applicable Laws: You are solely responsible for ensuring your products and business practices comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations, including but not limited to labeling, packaging, safety, and customs requirements.

2. Tax Collection & Remittance
Remnants will handle sales tax collection and remittance for transactions where marketplace facilitator laws apply, including orders shipped to California customers.

  • California Orders: As a California-based marketplace, we are required to collect and remit sales tax for sales shipped to California buyers. This tax will be automatically added to orders at checkout, and we will remit it directly to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA).
  • Out-of-State Orders: Sellers are responsible for understanding and managing their own tax obligations for sales shipped to states that may require seller-collected tax. We recommend consulting a tax professional if you have questions about your tax responsibilities outside of California.

3. Listing Fees and Payment Terms

  • Listing Commission: Remnants charges a commission of 10% on the transaction total—items and shipping (excluding tax)—which is deducted at the time of payment processing. There are no additional listing fees.
  • Seller Payments: Payments from buyers are processed through our payment gateway, with funds disbursed to your account after deducting applicable fees. Disbursements are made each Monday and include sales from the previous week (Monday–Sunday) that have been shipped with tracking.

4. Dispute Resolution and Returns

  • Final Sale Policy: Remnants is a final-sale marketplace. It is the seller’s responsibility to accurately represent item condition. Remnants does not accept or process returns directly.

  • Disputes: In the event of a dispute, Remnants may, at its discretion, facilitate communication between buyer and seller. Sellers are expected to respond to dispute-related communication within 3 business days. Repeated failure to respond may result in suspension or removal.

  • Limitation of Liability: Remnants is not responsible for the actions of individual sellers, including the contents of their shipments. However, we reserve the right to take appropriate action, including but not limited to seller account suspension, if violations of our policies occur.

5. Income Reporting and Tax Documentation
As a multi-vendor marketplace, we are committed to maintaining compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. To support our sellers and fulfill our obligations, we have outlined our income reporting and tax documentation requirements below:

  • Submission of Form W-9: To facilitate accurate tax reporting, all sellers are required to provide a completed Form W-9 after registration and before any payments are disbursed. This ensures that we have the necessary information, including your legal name, business name (if applicable), address, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
    • Why We Collect a W-9: The W-9 form allows us to verify your identity and comply with IRS regulations for reporting income.
    • How to Submit: You will be prompted to complete and upload your Form W-9 during the onboarding process. Failure to provide this form may result in delays or restrictions on your ability to sell or receive payments from sales on our platform.
  • Annual 1099-K Form Issuance: In accordance with IRS requirements, we will issue a Form 1099-K to sellers who meet or exceed the reporting threshold. For the current tax year, the threshold is $600 in total gross payments within the calendar year, regardless of the number of transactions.
    • What You Will Receive: If your sales on our platform total $600 or more during the year, you will receive a Form 1099-K summarizing your gross payment amounts.
    • Delivery Timeline: Form 1099-Ks will be issued by January 31st of the following year, as mandated by the IRS.
    • Electronic Delivery: To expedite the process, we will provide your 1099-K form electronically by email. Ensure your contact information is up to date to receive important notifications.
  • Seller Responsibility for Income Reporting: While we provide the 1099-K form for qualifying sellers, it is your responsibility to report your income accurately on your tax return. Please consult with a tax professional to understand your specific tax obligations.
  • Compliance and Data Security: We prioritize the security and confidentiality of your personal information. All submitted W-9 forms and tax documents are stored securely and handled in compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Each seller is allowed to operate only one store at a time. Duplicate or multiple stores under the same seller may be subject to suspension or removal.
6. Prohibited Items
Remnants is a curated marketplace for preowned, gently used arts and crafts supplies only. The following items are strictly prohibited and may not be listed:
  • New or wholesale-purchased supplies

  • Non-arts-and-crafts-related items

  • Finished artwork or upcycled projects

Important: Inclusion of inappropriate, explicit, or non-compliant materials in shipments (including unsolicited printed matter, media, or promotional content) is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the platform and referral to law enforcement if necessary.

Refer to our Terms of Service Policy for a complete list of prohibited items and community standards.

    7. Policy Updates
Remnants reserves the right to update this Seller Policy as needed to reflect changes in laws, tax obligations, or other business practices. Sellers will be notified of any material changes to the policy. Remnants reserves the right to remove sellers from the platform at any time, for violations of these or other policies, terms and conditions.
